Dawn Elaine Bowie, Esq. is a partner in Maryland Family Law Firm, LLC., and most recently was the principal of the Law Offices of Dawn Elaine Bowie, P.C. She practices exclusively in Maryland, where she has been admitted since 2002. She worked for six years as a certified paralegal for small law firms in Rockville, Maryland (including The Law Offices of Reginald Bours, P.C., The Law Offices of Barbara Kestenbaum, P.C., and the Law Offices of Joseph R. Whaley, P.C.) having obtained a second Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies from the University of Maryland University College (1994). Ms. Bowie's first undergraduate degree was in Broadcast Communications from Southern Adventist University (1978). She obtained a Master's Degree in Management from the University of Maryland University College in 1998 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2001.

Ms. Bowie started her practice out of her home in 2002, then worked as a contract attorney until May of 2003, when she became an associate for Thyden, Gross and Callahan in Chevy Chase, Maryland. In August of 2004, Ms. Bowie, re-established her own firm. Ms. Bowie was joined by Joseph Randall Whaley, Esquire in 2006. Mr. Whaley served as co-counsel to Ms. Bowie until his death in July of 2007.

Ms. Bowie taught as an adjunct professor in the Legal Studies Department at the University of Maryland University College for four semesters (2001 to 2003). She has published in Washington Woman (The Three P's, February 2006); and the Maryland Daily Record (Silent Suffering: Men as Victims of Domestic Violence, July 13, 2006), and has been featured in the Daily Record, both in articles (For solos, home office? Office-office? Or Something In Between, August 21, 2009), and on their blog.

Vincent T. Lyon, Esq.

Vincent T. Lyon, Esq. is a principle of the Maryland Family Law Firm, LLC.. He has been practicing law in Maryland since 2004, and is admitted to practice before Maryland state courts and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Mr. Lyon has also been admitted to practice at all levels in the District of Columbia.

Mr. Lyon has a Bachelor's Degree in History from Cornell University, where he graduated in 1994. He went on to obtain a Masters Degree in Museum Studies from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1996. While working for the Stanford University Robert Crown Law Library, Mr. Lyon found his new calling and went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate from the George Washington University Law School
in 2004.

Immediately after obtaining his license, Mr. Lyon went to work as a litigator for Louis Fireison and Associates in Bethesda, Maryland. He took cases to trial in local and federal courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia on a variety of matters and has successfully handled appeals in both jurisdictions in family law matters. In 2008 Mr. Lyon struck out on his own with Lyon Legal, LLC. Late in 2009 he and Ms. Bowie met and decided to pool their talents and form the Maryland Family Law Firm. He still runs Lyon Legal on a part-time basis to handle trademark and copyright issues.
