On November 6, the TRIO Writing Success Project, together with the Career Center, Office of Student Equity, and EOPS, held our annual First-Gen Celebration. This year’s celebration featured a conversation with five professionals who were the first in their families to go to college. The panelists represented a range of industries and interests: electrical engineering, early childhood education, wellness product-development, AI entrepreneurship, and art. The conversation between panelists and students covered advice and stories about navigating family expectations and the pressures of forging a path through higher education.

The TRIO Writing Success Project will feature a video of the event to share with the campus community–stay tuned
