You should see an academic counselor before you start your first semester of classes at ±¬ÁÏ³Ô¹Ï and make a follow up one-hour appointment to develop a comprehensive educational plan so that a counselor can guide you toward your educational goal. You should also see a counselor at least 1-2 times every semester to update your education plan. You may see a counselor anytime you have a question related to your studies at ±¬ÁϳԹÏ.

±¬ÁÏ³Ô¹Ï offers academic, career, and personal counseling services. Our services include Academic Counseling, Career Center, Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS), Extended Opportunities Programs and Services (EOPS), Multicultural Retention Services, Transfer Center, and Veterans Services.

Please think about your educational goal, major, and have your questions ready. Also, make sure you have access to any relevant records, such as transcripts from previous college(s), that a counselor may need to review. Find out more about our programs.

An Education Plan lists the classes you will need to complete semester by semester to attain your educational goal at ±¬ÁϳԹÏ. Request an appointment with a counselor to develop your Education Plan.

You will need 60 degree applicable units to receive an Associate Degree, including general education requirements. However, some programs may require more than 60 units and the length of time will depend on your assessment in English, Math, and/or ESL classes as well as how many units you will take each semester and/or transfer from other colleges.

Students may enroll in a maximum of 18 semester units, including physical education courses each Fall and Spring term. Students may enroll in a maximum of 9 semester units, including physical education courses during the Summer term. Students wishing to enroll in more than the maximum units allowable must receive permission from their academic counselor. Approval will not be given unless students need such units to be candidates for graduation, or have completed their last full semester of work at ±¬ÁÏ³Ô¹Ï with an average grade of B (3.00 grade-point average) or higher.
